Add a Video Note to Discussion

In some classes, the video note feature may be used to communicate instead of text-based postings. 


Step-by-Step: 

  1. Navigate to the discussion from the table of contents under Course Content

  2. Click on the blue title of the topic to which you would like to post
     
  3. After carefully reading the directions for the assignment, click on Start a New Thread (or reply to an existing post)
     

  4. Enter a Subject

  5. Enter a Message in the text box

  6. Click the Insert Stuff icon
     
  7. Click Add Video Note


  8. Click New Recording
     

  9. Record the video

    Note: Your browser may ask for permission to use your camera and microphone

  10. Click Stop Recording to stop the video


  11. Click Play to preview the video

  12. Click Next

  13. You will be presented with a new window where you can enter the video title, description, audio language selection, and add automatic captions, click on the Next button

  14. Enter a Title and Description

  15. Select Audio Language from the dropdown menu (this is necessary for captions to generate)

  16. Click the checkbox next to "Automatically generate captions from audio

  17. Click Next

  18. Preview your video

  19. Click Insert

  20. Click Post
