Roll Call Attendance

What is Roll Call Attendance?

Roll Call Attendance is a tool built into Canvas that your instructors can use to track your attendance. Most instructors use it to track face-to-face, SPC Live Online, or hybrid modality courses, however some instructors use it to track online attendance by checking you off weekly based on your time spent in the course.

Where can I see Roll Call Attendance?

By default, you can see Roll Call Attendance in your Grades section of your Canvas Course. Your instructor may also add it to a module, but this is optional.

  1. Navigate to your course.
  2. Select Grades on the Course Navigation (1) and find the row for "Roll Call Attendance," (2), and then click the "Roll Call Attendance" assignment link (3). This will open up the Assignment (4).
Note: If you do not immediately see the Roll Call Attendance assignment after opening it, be advised that it often takes a few seconds to load.

Where do I go for help with Roll Call Attendance?

If you're unable to see it even after waiting 10 seconds for it to load, and you've already tried clearing cache/cookies/history and restarting browser, reach out to the Technical Support Center

If you are concerned about it in the context of your course, reach out to your instructor using the Canvas Inbox. Questions for your instructor might be around how it fits into your final grade, how many points are deducted for being tardy, possible errors, etc.
